The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Pits The Beloved Duo Versus a Digital Device
Exactly 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story movie was released, establishing Pixar as a major film company and introducing viewers to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed recently, offering a brief look into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Spooks the Gang
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys appear to consider it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a new adventure with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have come back with him. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Continuity from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the badge pinned to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the group.
